SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the VP of Engineering this position is responsible for leading an organization responsible for manufacturing, test and sustaining engineering. This position will oversee manufacturing engineering department which has a primary responsibility of maximizing manufacturing efficiency by focusing both on the smooth transfer from new engineering design to predictable repetitive production and on ongoing improvement of production process and supplier quality. Position will collaborate with product development, manufacturing, supply chain, reliability engineering and quality to:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop manufacturing tools and processes
-
Reduce product cost and manufacturing cycle time

Develop effective product testing
-
Coordinate with manufacturing, quality and reliability to develop and monitor metrics for cost, yield and quality

Champion DFx to reduce product cost and improve product quality
-
Develop robust manufacturing processes.

Create and monitor manufacturing metrics for cost, yield , throughput and quality
-
Lead continuous improvement efforts to refine our manufacturing methods, processes and product design to achieve lowest product cost.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
-
Masters Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
-
15 years experience in manufacturing for moderate to high volume product requiring complex mechanical assembly.

5 years management experience leading a manufacturing engineering team
-
Proven track record of developing lean manufacturing processes and tooling and leading DFx development.

Demonstrated success in manufacturing and test process/quality improvement, and analysis/recommendation of design changes to support quality/process improvement;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
-
Lean/Six Sigma certification strongly desired.

Demonstrated success in the skill and art of managing a team and keep the team motivated;

In-depth, hands-on experience in developing improved test and assembly processes/methods/fixtures/tools.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 required

Individual is able to work with minimal supervision and actively participate in a team oriented, continuous improvement, manufacturing environment. Strong team leadership skills to facilitate project team success. Professional demeanor required.
