Director, Quality Assurance

Amonix is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Director with extensive experience and in depth knowledge of technologically advanced and complex products. This position reports directly to Vice President of Manufacturing Operations and will be responsible for Amonix’ Quality Assurance Organization.

The Director of Quality Assurance is directly responsible to oversee the implementation of a complete Quality Management System based on best practices of leading global companies with proven quality leadership. He/she will also be the voice of customer and the driver of a continuous improvement process across the enterprise. The Director of QA will be directly responsible for: 1) Supplier Quality; 2) In Process Quality; 3) Quality Systems 4) Safety and Training

Description of Role:
The Director of Quality Assurance plays an important role in several aspects:

• Supplier Quality. This function plays a key role in our ability to produce the highest quality product by using the highest quality components and sub assemblies from external suppliers. The function works closely with Material Organization to evaluate and select suppliers. It will establish key metrics to measure the performance and drive needed improvements and oversee the Supplier Corrective Action Request process.
• In Process Quality. The Quality Assurance Director will manage a number of Process Quality Engineers and Auditors whose primary responsibility is to ensure compliance to documented procedures and processes. This group is also responsible to perform product audit to ensure defect free products are shipped from any of our manufacturing facilities.
• Quality Systems. The Director of Quality Assurance will be directly responsible to oversee the implementation of a complete Quality Management System based on best practices of leading technology companies. The function will seek a number of established certifications such as ISO and ensure adherence to their requirements. The Director will be the driver of strategic initiatives within Amonix and its supply chain to drive the best possible quality performance as measure by customer satisfaction. He/she will implement a real time and effective Customer Satisfaction Survey Program that will drive continuous improvement across all of our disciplines.
• Safety and Training. The Director of Quality Assurance will lead the administration of our Safety and training programs.

The successful candidate will be able to own and direct all aspects described above, in a hands-on manner to deliver excellent performance as measured by a set of objective criterion.

Background:

• Minimum BS/BA degree with preference in an Operations/Management related field.
• Detailed knowledge of and firsthand experience with a number of established Quality Assurance basic disciplines such as Statistical Process Control, World class training programs, Six Sigma, and 5S. An individual with a Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years experience working in an Operations Engineering and Quality leadership role for a technologically advanced and complex product line.
• A proven background in change management where significant improvement was achieved through the establishment of best practices in a start up environment that achieved rapid growth.
